PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING

Catholic Outreach supports several programs that provide housing to individuals or families who are homeless.

Emergency Housing is primarily for families with children who are homeless. One adult must be employed. Housing is offered for two to three months allowing a family time to locate affordable housing and save for deposits and rents.
Transitional Supportive Housing is for persons who have been chronically homeless and have no other support to help them gain safe and decent housing. Residents work with the case manager, must have gainful employment or enter a program through the Workforce Center to learn a work skill. Residents pay no more than 30% of income during their 12 to 24 month stay, after which they are in a position to provide for their own permanent housing. There is an interview process to gain entrance into this program.

Permanent Supportive Housing is currently being developed to provide studio apartments to persons who have been chronically homeless, have mental or physical impairment and are free of drug abuse. Entrance is through a review committee.
