  • Grand Valley Catholic Outreach remembers former board member and long-time Soup Kitchen volunteer Andy Hutmacher. Andy served on our board from 2006 to 2012 and spearheaded our Empty Bowls fundraiser for 20 years. Andy was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
  • Grand Valley Catholic Outreach would like to thank all of the attendees at the 20th Annual Empty Bowls fundraiser for making it a resounding success on October 10th. This event helps provide nutritional meals to community members in need. The Soup Kitchen serves an average of 275 meals each day.
  • The 19th annual Homeless Memorial Service was held at 10:00am on Thursday, December 17th, at Hawthorne Park at 4th Street between Hill and Gunnison Avenues in Grand Junction.  Each year, community members gather for a non-denominational prayer service and candle-lighting ceremony in which people have an opportunity to tie ribbons on the tree in commemoration of those homeless individuals who have died over the years.
  • With the completion of Phase II, St. Martin Place now provides permanent supportive housing to 39 formerly-homeless individuals, including veterans. Clergy members and community partners celebrated the dedication of Phase II on April 23rd.
  • Enterprise Zone Certificates:Beginning in 2015, Catholic Outreach will be asking you to provide additional information if you wish to receive an Enterprise Zone (EZ) Certificate. The State will no longer issue EZ Certificates without the last four digits of the donor's Social Security number or State Tax ID number.

  • We held our annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on April 23rd. We are truly grateful for our dedicated volunteers. Without them, we would not be able to maintain the smooth operation of our Day Center, Soup Kitchen, Financial Aid Department, Clothing Bank, or Food Pantry.
